In March 2013 Hodder & Stoughton launched Chapter 5, an online YA community aimed at appealing to 12-19 year-olds.
The brief was to design a youthful logo and brand that would appeal to a younger audience while still feeling 'bookish'. Starting with a pencil and paper, I created a custom hand-drawn typeface, which developed into the final sketched logo.
This hand-drawn visual theme is carried across all printed and online materials; from custom social media icons to custom 'sketched' pack shot’s and a bold colour palette, so even the smallest of assets will feel branded but not overly weighted to appealing to males of females.
